What happens today

Your talent is already global. The tools aren’t. Yet.

You live abroad or you’re planning to. You bring your education, work, projects, experience and skills with you. And they have value.

But you keep hitting the same walls:

  • 01

    “Never heard of it”

Whoever reads your profile doesn't recognise your university or the companies you worked for.

  • 02

Forty tabs and an “it depends”

Every source says something different, and none gives you a straight answer for your situation.

  • 03

“I speak the language and they still don't get me”

The language isn't the problem. What’s missing are the words people here use to recognise what you can do.

  • 04

    Starting from scratch, on paper

You rebuild your profile in every country, as if what came before didn't count.

  • 05

Processes that take months or years

Recognition of your degree moves slowly. Meanwhile, you need options.

Without help, it takes months, sometimes years. Several attempts. And a lot of unnecessary frustration.

What you've built is valid. Let's make it count here.

Questions

Got questions? We've got answers!

What is the Equivalent Profile?

The Equivalent Profile is an analysis of your education and professional experience for a specific destination country: currently Portugal or Spain.

It compares your education and professional experience with local references in that country and gives you:

  • equivalence percentages against local benchmarks
  • a classification of your skills according to international standards
  • practical guidance and local resources
  • an Equivalence assessment certificate

You can view it and download it as a PDF from your private area as many times as you like.

Is it for me if I studied or worked outside Portugal or Spain?

Yes. It is for any adult who studied or worked in a country other than the one where they want to work, whether they already live there or are still deciding.

You purchase one Profile for each destination country you are interested in.

What can I do with my Equivalent Profile?

You can use it to rewrite your CV with local references, apply for roles that match your actual level, explain your background in interviews and prepare your documents before a recognition process.

It is yours, and you can use it without asking for our permission. It gives you local context that can otherwise take years to learn: how your experience is described in the destination country, which local references it can be compared with and what is expected from a profile like yours.

At a minimum, you can use it to:

  • Rewrite your CV using the names and references used in the destination country.
  • Apply for roles that match your actual level, rather than having your background underestimated because it is unfamiliar locally.
  • Explain your background in an interview using local references the other person can recognise.
  • Prepare your documentation before starting a recognition process.

You can also present it to employers, educational institutions, public bodies or other organisations you are interested in. The copy you download is yours to keep, even if you close your account.

How much does the Equivalent Profile cost?

There are three packs, each with a one-time payment per country: Explore is free, Navigate costs €79.99 —a launch price for the first 100 profiles; after that, €159.99— and Guided costs €359.99.

Navigate

Is it a one-time payment or a subscription?

It is a one-time payment. None of the packs includes a subscription or automatic renewal, and we will not charge you on a recurring basis.

Is it an official recognition of my foreign degree?

No. The Equivalent Profile is not an official recognition or homologation of your degree, and it does not replace those procedures: it complements them.

It does not grant or deny official recognition and does not replace the competent authorities in each country. In Spain, homologation of foreign university degrees falls under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, while non-university qualifications fall under the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports. In Portugal, recognition procedures are handled, depending on the type of recognition, by the DGES and/or public higher education institutions. For regulated professions, the relevant authority, professional order or professional body may also be involved.

The Equivalent Profile can guide you on which recognition route may apply to your case, what documentation is commonly required and which local references your background may be compared with. It does not affect the decision of the competent authorities.

Does this replace a lawyer or an immigration adviser?

No. The Equivalent Profile does not replace legal or immigration advice. Decisions about your administrative status are made by the competent authorities.

What we do is guide you on your professional path. With Guided, you also work on your Profile directly with our team: one session to understand your situation and goals before we prepare it, and another to review the result, your roadmap and your next steps with you.

If you need advice on a legal or immigration procedure, you should consult a qualified professional. If useful, you can write to us at info@equivalence.world: we work with partner professionals and can put you in touch.

How do I find out what my foreign degree is equivalent to in Portugal or Spain?

There are two different routes, and they can complement each other. Official recognition —for example, homologation in Spain or recognition in Portugal— has legal effects. The Equivalent Profile, by contrast, helps you understand which local degrees, roles and references your background may be compared with, so you can make decisions and present yourself professionally with more local context.

Explore and Navigate are usually delivered within the timeframes described above. The Profile can also guide you on the recognition route that may apply to your case and the documentation that is commonly requested, helping you prepare for a possible official process.
